Inspection bench

Where returns are opened on camera and graded. The same discipline as the pack bench, pointed the other way.

What it produces

Inspection bench, as you see it.

The bench app, recording from the moment the parcel is still sealed. Items are scanned OUT of the parcel against what the return said would be in it — so anything short is on the footage rather than inferred afterwards.

How it runs

Three steps, in order.

  1. Parcel booked in and recordedRecording starts with the parcel sealed, so the footage covers arrival as well as inspection.
  2. Items scanned out against the returnWhat was supposed to come back is compared against what actually did. Missing and foreign items are recorded, not inferred.
  3. Condition graded to your rulesThe inspector grades against your definitions, and the grade is attached to the item and its video.
What that includes

What that includes.

  • Recording tied to the return reference, not the day
  • Item-level outcomes with timestamps
  • Missing, extra and wrong-item handling built in
  • Condition bands you define
  • Grade and outcome pushed back to your returns portal
What we need from you
  • Your condition bands and what each one means
  • The outcome you want for each grade
What you get back
  • Recording tied to the return reference
  • Item-level outcomes with timestamps
  • Missing, extra and wrong-item handling built in
  • Grade and outcome pushed back to your returns portal
The honest bit

The bench does not let an inspector override a scan to make a return tidy. If the item does not match, that is recorded — which occasionally produces awkward data, and that is the point of having it.
